I couldn’t resist. It’s so beautiful. Local dealer had one identical but in yellow that I test drove. This orange one was at a partner dealership and they had it transferred over for me.
2016 Mustang GT (Base) w/ Performance Package. Competition Orange. 6-speed.
This thing is SO much more fun than my E46 M3 (which is for sale btw). It has everything I want/need and nothing I don’t. The mods list has already begun....
Any other oppos with an S550?

I really gotta drive one of these eventually. I do not like older mustangs at all due to the suspensions. But the new model certainly has piqued my interest and they look so much better as well. Nice purchase, don’t wreck it (via crashing into something or ricing the hell out of it)

oh lol. that’s funny. I’ve never been a huge fan of yellow, but triple yellow looks great. But to be fair, my first car was an Orange Blast SRT-4 (had for 7 years) and we traded in our orange wrangler for the Mustang. So we are orange car people.

I’ve got an 02 PY 6-spd, but it’s a rag top and I’ve always said that I would have the first LSB/Oxford Green coupe that I could swing...I even have a buddy in Wilmington and I’m way overdue for a visit to his place. I will get in touch with you via craigslist if I get serious.
Just out of curiosity, have you considered listing it for sale with Bring a Trailer? I’m only asking because E46 M’s tend to go for a pretty penny over there as long they are 6-speed, hardtop, and a rare color.

This was my first day driving it to work. I’ve now had it for about two weeks and put ~400 miles on it, which is high for me. My commute to work is only 12 miles round trip (including a trip back home for lunch). It’s a little dirtier now :)

Thanks! It’s exactly what I wanted. Base GT with just the PP, nothing else. I wanted the recaros, but I wasn’t sure that A) they were worth the money and B) I would fit in them (6'4, ~240). I thought about the Gaurd, but I thought I might get tired of it. I tend to like bright colors better.

Ah, ok. Oh well. This is the only one they had in stock, and they had to get this one from a sister dealership. I was happy enough to find that they could get a comp orange w/pp. No recaros wasn’t quite a deal-breaker. Also, my shoulders are super wide.

Nice! In my moments of madness (or maybe it’s lucidity) where I consider replacing my 30-year-old German sports car with something newer, the base GT with PP and the Focus RS are on top of the list. They’re about the same price and both look like really fun cars.
Enjoy!

Thanks! After having several 4cyl and 6cyl cars, I was craving a V8. I love the new look of the mustang, and for the price you can’t beat it. It IS fun. It is leaps and bounds more fun (read: dangerous) than my E46. To put in perspective, our old E90 M3 V8 was rated at 414/295 and this is rated at 435/400. 105tq is a BIG difference. E46 is 333/262.

Man, I love the new body style, so I would say yes. But I also love the old Boss 302. I heard the old body style was actually a little quicker, and the Boss 302 will hold it’s value better than a GT if that’s a concern for you. And funny enough, I can’t weigh in on the IRS vs SRA situation since I’ve only driven this one. The interior is way nicer than I would have expected though. I do like the turn signals in the hood scoop things in the 16. lol Do you have a 4.6 now? I will say the 5.0 is a monster. I am not disappointed at all.

Thanks! I bought it from a dealership in Raleigh that had it transferred from a partner dealership near Charlotte. I’m not sure to be honest. It probably has more to do with if you are trading in a car and how much money the dealership paid for the car. It may not be much cheaper than new, or possibly more. BTW, you will love it.

Sorry, just saw this response. The Mustang is a little more harsh/raw, but I like that. The M cars are a little more refined/smooth. So depending on how you look at it, it could be a positive or a negative. However, I will say that the S550 is not too much harsher than the E46. It is, however, much stiffer than our E90 was. Keep in mind though that our E90 had the EDC, and the Mustang has the Performance Package that supposedly stiffens everything up.
